Job summary

COPE Sensitive Freight in Newcastle is seeking a dedicated Driver to join our team. You’ll handle loading, deliveries and pickups across Newcastle and surrounds, ensuring correct packing and load restraint in our specialised trucks.

This role requires a current MR licence, a focus on safety and CoR compliance, and a professional approach to customer service. Forklift and heights licenses are an advantage; self‑motivation and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Newcastle and surrounding suburbs.
• Current MR licence or higher.
• Commitment to safety and CoR compliance.
• Experience in transport or sensitive freight is helpful.
• Forklift/working-at-heights licences are desirable but not essential.
• Self-motivation, reliability and good physical fitness.
• Professional approach to customer service.

Responsibilities

• Sorting and loading the vehicle.
• Completing deliveries and pickups across Newcastle and surrounding areas.
• Ensuring correct packing and load restraint in our specialised trucks.
• Scanning freight using COPE’s track‑and‑trace system.
• Handling and delivering high‑value freight, including medical, retail, IT equipment.
• Working independently as a one‑out driver or as part of a team.
