Job summary

ACT Government in Canberra seeks a Senior Youth Worker to support children and young people with complex social, emotional and wellbeing needs across ACT public schools. You will deliver targeted, trauma-informed, relationship-based interventions to enhance engagement and educational participation, working across multiple school sites as required.

Qualifications

• Experience providing therapeutic support to children and young people with complex needs within educational settings.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and its application in schools.
• Demonstrated ability to provide professional leadership, mentoring and support to junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted, therapeutic and relationship-based interventions across ACT public schools.
• Identify goals, build protective factors and support positive educational and wellbeing outcomes for students.
• Coordinate holistic support with families, educators and external agencies to strengthen school responses.
• Provide leadership and practice support to Youth Workers and school-based staff.
