Job summary

VACCA - Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community Agency is seeking a Senior Better Futures Youth Worker to support 15–21 year olds in or leaving out-of-home care. You will provide case management and help develop living skills, housing and social outcomes in the Southern Metro and Bayside Peninsula regions.

This fixed-term full-time role offers a supportive environment, induction, supervision, professional development, salary packaging and access to agency vehicles for work.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated commitment and understanding of VACCA values and purpose.
• Awareness of Aboriginal cultures, protocols and issues affecting communities.
• Experience in working with Aboriginal families/children and/or in the child and family sector.
• Knowledge of Youth homelessness, out-of-home care, Child Protection and Youth Justice services.

Responsibilities

• Lead leaving care support and case management as young people exit care.
• Support development of life and independent living skills with focus on housing, personal and social outcomes.
• Build connections with young people aged 15–21 in care settings within Southern Metro/Bayside Peninsula.
• Collaborate with local services to access resources for youth in out-of-home care.
