Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency (VACCA) invites applications for a Senior Better Futures Youth Worker to support young people aged 15–21 who are or were in out-of-home care. The role focuses on leaving-care support and case management to build life, housing and social outcomes within a culturally safe Aboriginal context.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate commitment to VACCA's values, understanding of Aboriginal cultures, and experience with youth services.

Qualifications

• Commitment to VACCA's vision and purpose.
• Awareness of Aboriginal cultures and issues affecting communities.
• Experience with Aboriginal families/children or child and family sector.
• Understanding of kinship systems and issues facing vulnerable Aboriginal people.
• Knowledge of youth homelessness, out-of-home care and related services in Southern Metro/Bayside Peninsula.

Responsibilities

• Work with young people aged 15–21 in out-of-home care as their main leaving-care contact.
• Provide case management support to develop life, independent living, housing and social outcomes.
