Job summary

NSW Department of Education is seeking a Head Teacher Mentor to lead teaching, learning and student achievement across Years 9 to 12. The role oversees curriculum planning, programming, assessment and reporting, and supports Personalised Learning Pathways and post-school pathways.

The successful candidate will coach staff, implement Aboriginal education commitments and coordinate VET requirements, ensuring strong partnerships with Aboriginal families and communities.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated deep knowledge of culture, identity and linguistic background in education of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students.
• Ability to lead whole-school initiatives and drive strategic directions.
• Experience with learning needs in rural/remote communities and personalised learning.
• Capability to implement Department, NESA and VET requirements for Stage 5 and Stage 6.

Responsibilities

• Lead teaching, learning and student achievement across Years 9–12.
• Coordinate curriculum planning, programming, assessment and reporting.
• Support school executives in building a culture of shared responsibility for student outcomes.
