Job summary

Pennant Hills High School, part of the NSW Department of Education, seeks a Head Teacher to lead inclusive education programs for students with diverse learning needs. You will mentor a team of teachers and SLSOs, design quality, differentiated teaching and coordinate transition programs from Year 6 to 7 and beyond.

The role requires approved NSW teaching qualifications, strong leadership, and a commitment to Aboriginal education policy and student welfare across a dynamic high school community.

Qualifications

• Experienced in inclusive teaching for students with mild/moderate intellectual disability, autism and complex learning needs.
• Ability to lead collaborative development of Individual Education Plans to support social, emotional, personal, behavioural and academic learning needs.
• Demonstrated classroom practice with capacity to inspire, mentor and build capacity of teams of teachers and SLSOs.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of teachers and support staff to deliver differentiated teaching across inclusive education classes.
• Manage transition programs from Year 6 to Year 7 and post-school pathways.
• Ensure compliance with school, Department, and NSW Education Standards Authority policies.
• Provide exemplary leadership, communication and interpersonal skills to engage students, parents, staff and external agencies.
