About the opportunity

Altrad is seeking a capable and motivated Workforce Planning Coordinator to join our Planning & Mobilisation team, based at our Subiaco head office, working Monday to Friday.

This is an excellent opportunity for an established Workforce Planning or Rostering Coordinator who is ready to take the next step in their career, broaden their operational exposure and develop their skills in workforce planning across a national business.

Supporting major projects, maintenance contracts and shutdown activities across the resources and energy sectors, you will work closely with Operations, Recruitment, HR and site teams to coordinate workforce requirements, manage labour allocation and support effective planning across multiple projects.

We are looking for someone who brings a strong foundation in workforce coordination, takes initiative and is confident managing competing priorities. You don't need to have operated in a senior capacity previously, but you will be ready to take greater ownership, contribute ideas and develop your capability in workforce forecasting, reporting and resource optimisation.

With exposure to a diverse range of operations and experienced stakeholders, this role offers the opportunity to build on your existing skills, influence how we plan and deploy our workforce and contribute to ongoing improvements across the business.

In this role, you will:

  • Coordinate workforce planning requirements across multiple projects, contracts and regions, supporting short and longer-term labour forecasts.
  • Work closely with Operations, Recruitment and project teams to understand upcoming workforce requirements and proactively identify potential resourcing gaps.
  • Support effective labour allocation and internal redeployment opportunities to maximise workforce utilisation across the business.
  • Maintain and coordinate FIFO and DIDO rosters, workforce movements and labour requirements in line with operational schedules.
  • Identify competing labour demands, upcoming shutdowns and potential workforce constraints, escalating risks and assisting with practical solutions.
  • Maintain accurate workforce data, Labour Request Forms (LRFs) and planning information within company systems.
  • Collaborate with mobilisation and compliance teams to ensure personnel are appropriately prepared for project deployment.
  • Prepare workforce reports, labour forecasts and utilisation data to support operational planning and decision-making.
  • Assist with workforce planning for new projects, contract mobilisations and shutdown activities.
  • Build strong working relationships with operational stakeholders, providing timely updates and maintaining clear communication around workforce availability.
  • Share knowledge and support other team members, contributing to a collaborative and consistent approach to workforce coordination.
  • Identify opportunities to improve planning processes, reporting accuracy and the effective use of workforce management systems.
About you

You are an organised, proactive and solutions-focused coordinator who enjoys working in a fast-paced operational environment. You have developed a solid understanding of workforce coordination and rostering and are now looking for an opportunity to take on greater responsibility and continue building your career.

You don't need to tick every box. What matters most is your ability to think ahead, build relationships, solve problems and take ownership of your work.

Ideally, you will bring:

  • Experience in workforce coordination, rostering, scheduling or resource planning, ideally within mining, oil and gas, construction, maintenance or a similar operational environment.
  • An understanding of FIFO and DIDO workforce arrangements, labour allocation and mobilisation processes.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to balance competing priorities and respond to changing operational requirements.
  • Confidence working with workforce management systems, HRIS platforms and Excel, with an interest in developing your reporting and forecasting capabilities.
  • A proactive approach to identifying workforce gaps, resolving scheduling challenges and supporting operational teams.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across different levels of the business.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate workforce and rostering information.
  • A willingness to learn, contribute ideas and take on new challenges as you develop into a more senior planning role.

Above all, we are looking for someone with the right attitude, initiative and ambition to grow. If you have a strong background in workforce coordination and are ready to take the next step, we would welcome your application.
