Job summary

University of Queensland seeks a Senior Case Manager in Work Injury Management to lead complex workers' compensation matters within a self-insured environment. You will oversee investigations, rehabilitation and timely return-to-work outcomes, partnering with workers and practitioners.

You bring five+ years of experience, strong legislative knowledge, and proven leadership to coach colleagues and drive continuous improvement across the team.

Qualifications

• Experience in workers' compensation principles and legislation.
• Ability to interpret Queensland workers' compensation and rehabilitation legislation.
• Experience managing complex statutory workers' compensation and common law claims.
• Strong written and verbal communication, negotiation and advocacy skills.
• Leadership and coaching capabilities within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of complex physical and psychological injury workers' compensation claims from investigation through rehabilitation and return to work.
• Apply technical expertise to complex matters including rejection, cessation, review, appeal and common law claims.
• Coordinate medico-legal reports, submissions and other complex documentation within a self-insured environment.
• Collaborate with injured workers, leaders, practitioners and stakeholders to achieve timely return-to-work outcomes.
• Provide coaching, mentoring and strategic reviews of long-duration claims.
