Aboriginal Legal Service in Redfern, NSW is seeking a Work Health and Safety Manager to lead ALS's WHS Management System across NSW/ACT, ensuring compliance and a culture of safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in a senior WHS role with relevant tertiary qualifications.
• Demonstrated experience developing WHS Management Systems across multi-site organisations.
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, risk management and incident investigations.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and ability to foster a positive safety culture.
• Commitment to culturally safe workplaces and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and continuously improve ALS's WHS Management System to promote proactive safety culture.
• Monitor WHS compliance, manage workplace risks and oversee investigations and corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain WHS policies, procedures, training, and systems.
• Coordinate workplace inspections, audits, emergency management and safety readiness.
• Oversee WHS reporting, governance, and performance monitoring for continuous improvement.
• Build strong stakeholder relationships and support staff and managers to maintain safe workplaces.
