Egisgroup is seeking a Senior Civil / Environmental Engineer to join our Mine Closure and Water Rehabilitation team in Brisbane or the Gold Coast, working with closure planners, landform designers and geomorphologists on projects across Queensland and NSW.

The role focuses on drainage, flood risk, water resources and soils/erosion, with opportunities to lead design, assessments and regulatory documentation, while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• A tertiary degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or equivalent.
• RPEQ registration, or eligibility to obtain registration in the short term.
• Demonstrated experience in hydrologic and hydraulic modelling (TUFLOW, HEC-RAS, RORB / URBS / XP-RAFTS, DRAINS) and ARR 2019 knowledge.
• Experience designing drainage, flood mitigation, erosion and sediment control or water management infrastructure with drawings, specs and quantities.
• Mine closure, rehabilitation and natural landform design experience is highly regarded.
• Working knowledge of soils/erosion processes or collaboration with soil scientists.
• CPESC or RSP-ESC accreditation or progress towards either is desirable.
• Familiarity with 12d Model, GIS, Deswik, flood modelling software and GoldSim desirable.
• Commercial acumen, client relationships and business development awareness.
• Project management across all life stages.

Responsabilités

• Lead surface water and flood assessments for operating and closing mine sites, including catchment hydrology, hydraulic modelling, and flood immunity assessments.
• Design closure drainage and water management infrastructure such as diversion drains, spillways, rock chutes and sediment basins.
• Contribute to creek diversion and waterway rehabilitation design with geomorphologists.
• Contribute to natural landform design and provide hydrology inputs for stable final landforms.
• Contribute to soils and erosion assessments for rehabilitation and closure, including erosion control plans.
• Undertake site water balance and final void/pit lake assessments for water management.
• Prepare mine closure plans, PRCPs and regulatory documentation.
• Contribute to closure design cost estimates and quantities for civil/earthworks.
• Collaborate with a national closure practitioner group and mentor junior engineers.
• Undertake site visits and coordinate projects and proposals.
