Job summary

Colliers in Sydney is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer to join our Civil/Hydrotechnical team, delivering water resources solutions across mining, energy and infrastructure projects.

You will lead hydrology and hydraulics studies, mentor engineers, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to produce practical, sustainable outcomes. RPEQ/CPEng preferred; strong written and client-facing skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Civil or Environmental Engineering
• Demonstrated experience in hydrological/hydraulic analysis (1D, 2D and rain-on-grid), flood risk management, stormwater quality/quantity modelling, stormwater infrastructure design and technical reporting
• Proven experience using computer software including 12D, TUFLOW, XPRAFTS/WBNM, HEC-RAS, QGIS, MUSIC
• Motivate and empower the team to perform through leading by example
• Superior technical knowledge while delivering pragmatic and practical outcomes
• High level industry awareness and engagement

Responsibilities

• Undertake hydrological and hydraulic modelling and assessments
• Deliver flood modelling and flood impact assessments
• Prepare and review technical reports and engineering documentation
• Develop and review project proposals and study deliverables
• Provide input into engineering design, project planning and cost estimates
• Mentor and support junior engineers and graduates
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across a variety of projects
• Build strong client relationships and contribute to successful project outcomes
