Job summary

Crafty Apes in Sydney is seeking an experienced VFX Production Manager to oversee production across high-end projects, coordinating schedules, budgets, and resource allocation with global studios. The role requires strong leadership, meticulous organisation, and excellent communication with artists, project supervisors, and executives to ensure on-time delivery of show-ready assets.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–4 years in Production Management within a high-end VFX studio.
• Proven ability to manage complex VFX deliverables for feature/episodic projects.
• Expert-level proficiency with ShotGrid and strong end-to-end VFX pipeline knowledge.
• Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Google Workspace / Microsoft Office (Sheets/Excel).

Responsibilities

• Manage workload and production schedules from bidding to final delivery, meeting deadlines and quality standards.
• Define project scope, milestones, and resource requirements with VFX leadership.
• Develop, maintain and communicate production schedules and task assignments.
• Identify bottlenecks or budget risks and implement timely solutions.
• Track artist resource utilisation and keep budgets within approved limits.
• Act as central communication point between show leadership, supervisors, and artists.
• Oversee day-to-day priorities and shot flow across 2D/3D production disciplines.
• Coordinate asset/shots flow to downstream departments for review and approval.
• Schedule internal reviews, daily check-ins, and production meetings; document actions.
