Job summary

James Street Veterinary Hospital Beenleigh in Queensland is seeking an experienced Senior Vet Nurse to join a large, modern GP hospital. The role covers anaesthesia, imaging, dentistry, wound management and rehabilitation, with a supportive team and opportunities for skill development.

The position offers part-time hours with flexibility and a friendly, stress-free work environment where patient care is prioritized. Training and team events are provided to foster professional growth.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV Vet Nurse or Bachelor of Veterinary Technology.
• Minimum 3+ years’ experience post qualification.
• Knowledge of Ezyvet and Smartflow advantageous but not necessary.
• Proven rapport and communication skills with colleagues, clients and the community.

• Lead and support junior nurses in their clinical development.

Welcome to our large modern vet hospital and accredited Hospital of Excellence. We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Vet Nurse to join our high performing team.

Wehave four consults, 2 surgical suites, dental suite,fully equipped laboratory and pharmacy, separate dog and cat waiting areas and wards, large treatment room, IM3 radiology, ultrasound and more.

We have an interesting case loadacross our four veterinarians, promote excellentteamwork andcommunicationsincludingmorning and afternoon rounds and have a shared rotating roster across Surgery, Hospital, Procedures and Consulting.

We’re looking for anexceptional nurse who enjoys all aspects of surgery,hospital and nurse consulting, that isconfidentor emergingin Anaesthesia, Analgesia, Imaging,Dental,Soft Tissue, Orthopaedic, WoundManagement and Rehabilitation.

This opportunity may also suit an ECC nurse looking for a GP role with normal hours.

About the Role

• Mon 8-4pm, Wed & Fri 8-6pm with ability to pick up more hours if desired
• Deliver high-level veterinary nursing care across all areas of the clinic
• Lead and support junior nurses in their clinical development
• Perform and oversee anaesthetic monitoring and surgical nursing
• IV catheter placement, blood collection, and advanced patient care
• Maintain accurate and thorough medical records
• Ensure strict adherence to infection control and hospital cleanliness standards
• Support client communication and education with professionalism and empathy
• Assist in maintaining efficient clinic workflow and standards of care

• Certificate IV Vet Nurse or Bachelor of Veterinary Technology
• Minimum3+years’ experiencepost qualification
