Job summary

Bayside Health is seeking a Vascular Laboratory Manager (Sonographer Grade 5) to lead the non-invasive vascular ultrasound service at The Alfred. The role combines strategic oversight with hands-on clinical leadership across inpatient and outpatient populations, ensuring high-quality imaging and patient care.

You will collaborate with surgical and medical leaders to optimise workflow, train staff, and promote governance and education within the department.

Qualifications

Full accreditation with the Australasian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR).
Diploma of Medical Ultrasound (Vascular) or equivalent postgraduate qualification.
Currently working towards a master’s degree or higher in vascular ultrasound.
Demonstrated leadership experience.
Proven experience in supervision, training and support of trainee and junior sonographers.
Experience in formal teaching or education within a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic, operational and clinical leadership of the Vascular Laboratory.
Oversee workforce management and service development.
Drive quality improvement and governance.
Collaborate with Head of Vascular Surgery and Medical Director to optimise service delivery.
Ensure delivery of high‑quality, patient‑centred vascular ultrasound services.
