Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Urban Planner to join the Urbanism & Planning team in Sydney. You will work with urban planners, designers, landscape architects and engineers to deliver high-quality planning outcomes for NSW, Canberra, Newcastle and the Hunter region.

You will mentor junior planners, lead planning projects, perform research and liaise with clients and authorities to ensure timely, compliant outcomes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Town Planning/Urban Planning with ~6+ years of urban or environmental planning experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and GIS/spatial tools advantageous.
• Proven ability to work within multidisciplinary project teams and deliver high-quality planning outcomes.
• Strong written and verbal communication; liaising with clients, stakeholders and authorities.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and technical reports in support of applications and proposals.
• Mentor and support junior planners and develop their technical skills.
• Lead planning projects, prepare planning reports, due diligence and approvals for major infrastructure.
• Undertake research, policy reviews and analyses to inform planning strategies and compliance.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver planning inputs for approvals and masterplanning.
• Develop client relationships and contribute to fee proposals and bids.
