Job summary

AUMS is seeking a Senior Mining Engineer to join our African Operations on a 6 weeks on/4 weeks off roster. You will assist Site Project Managers and Mine Foreman with technical mining issues, interpret mining data, and integrate with client technical services.

The role requires strong production monitoring and cost control experience. Minimum 5 years in underground mining, a mining engineering degree, and relevant competencies.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years relevant underground mining experience.
• Bachelor's degree in mining engineering.
• Underground Supervisors Certificate of Competency or FCMM Certificate of Competency.
• Senior First Aid Certificate.
• Demonstrated experience in management support within high productivity underground contracting.
• In-depth knowledge of MinRep, Deswick and Surpac; able to design templates for reporting.

Responsibilities

• Assist Site Project Managers and Mine Foreman with technical mining issues.
• Interpret and analyse mining data and site costs.
• Ensure compliance with HS&E policies and regulations.
• Monitor production and provide monthly performance reporting.
• Prepare monthly mining progress claims and interface with client.
• Budget preparation and cost reduction initiatives.
