Job summary

Aurecon is growing its NSW & ACT Integrated Transport and Mobility (ITM) Practice. We are seeking an experienced Transport Planner/Traffic Engineer (5–10 years) to join our Sydney, Newcastle or Canberra offices.

You will work on Transport Impact Assessments, strategic transport planning, and advisory projects for major developments and infrastructure. This hands-on role includes direct client exposure and pathways to leadership opportunities.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years’ experience in transport planning/traffic engineering.
• Experience preparing and reviewing Transport Impact Assessments.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver Transport Impact Assessments for complex projects
• Contribute to strategic transport planning, active transport, and multimodal access studies
• Support or manage projects end‑to‑end, including scope, programme, budget, and risk
• Engage directly with clients, approval authorities, and stakeholders
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Aurecon
• Contribute to winning work and growing trusted client relationships
