Job summary

Jet Aviation Defence in Australia is seeking an experienced Senior Training Manager to lead the Maintenance Training Organisation framework across DASR, EASA and CASA compliant programs. You will oversee Part 145/147 training packages, develop assessment strategies, and mentor instructional staff across multiple sites.

This role requires strong leadership, regulatory knowledge, and a commitment to safety and excellence.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of aviation training experience.
• Strong knowledge of Part 145 and Part 147 requirements.
• Australian citizenship and right to work in Australia.
• Experience across Defence or regulatory aviation environments.

Responsibilities

• Own MTO training framework compliant with DASR/EASA/CASA.
• Oversee Part 145 and Part 147 training packages.
• Develop Training Assessment Strategies and courseware.
• Lead, mentor and coach instructional staff across multiple locations.
• Identify training and capability gaps and implement practical solutions.
• Work with Quality and Aviation Safety to investigate shortfalls.

Are you an experienced aviation training professional ready to take the lead in a highly regulated defence aviation environment?

As Senior Training Manager, you will have the opportunity to lead a team of skilled instructional professionals, influence how maintenance training is delivered and play a key role in developing the capability of the PC-21 and B300 programs.

You’ll work across training, maintenance, quality and aviation safety, building strong relationships with operational leaders, Defence stakeholders and regulatory bodies. Your expertise will help identify capability gaps, strengthen training outcomes and ensure our people are equipped with the skills they need to perform safely and effectively.

With responsibility across multiple sites, you’ll have the scope to make a genuine impact while working within a global aviation organisation and a highly specialised defence environment.

The successful candidate will be based out of either the RAAF Base East Sale, Victoria operation at theor our operation at the RAAF Base Pearce, Western Australia.

Annual Salary Package up to AUD$140,000 + Super + 15% Bonus + Relocation Assistance

Your Responsibilities

You will take ownership of the Maintenance Training Organisation (MTO) training framework, ensuring compliance with applicable DASR/EASA/CASA requirements, approved expositions, company procedures and safety standards.

You will also:

• Manage the Maintenance Training Organisation Exposition and Training & Certification Plan.
• Oversee approved Part 145 and Part 147 training packages.
• Develop Training Assessment Strategies and supporting courseware.
• Lead, mentor and coach instructional staff across multiple locations.
• Identify training and capability gaps and develop practical solutions.
• Work closely with Quality and Aviation Safety teams to investigate training shortfalls.
• Ensure training and assessment is delivered safely, professionally and consistently.
• Deliver training and assessment where required.
• Represent Jet Aviation with Defence, regulatory and industry stakeholders.

What Will Help You to Succeed

We're looking for an aviation professional who combines technical credibility, training expertise and strong people leadership.

You'll ideally bring:

• Certificate IV in Training & Assessment or equivalent.
• Certificate IV in Aeroskills - Mechanical or Avionics.
• TAE Enterprise Trainer skill sets - Mentoring or Presenting.
• Minimum 5 years' aviation experience.
• Demonstrated aviation training and assessment experience.
• Strong knowledge of Part 145 and Part 147 requirements in civil and/or military aviation.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and people skills.
• An analytical, solutions-focused approach to complex issues.
• Strong computer skills across Microsoft Office.
• A commitment to safety, customer service and professional excellence.
• Australian citizenship.

Highly regarded:

• DASA, CASA or EASA B1/B2 licence.
• Experience within a Part 147 MTO.
• Experience leading and developing training teams.
• Familiarity with Safety Management Systems and aviation training databases.

The Remuneration Annual Salary package will be determined by the successful candidate's qualification and experience.
