Job summary

• Able to resolve complex traffic and transport related problems, negotiate viable options with key stakeholders and with management approval, implement preferred solutions.

About the role

The Traffic Operations team is looking for a highly skilled and motivated engineer to join its team. The Senior Traffic Engineer is responsible for conducting investigations and technical assessments, make appropriate day-to-day decisions in relation to customer issues and make recommendations to resolve traffic and parking issues.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Tertiary qualificationsin traffic engineering, transport planning and/or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Extensive work experience in the fields of traffic engineering, transport planning, project management and/or road safety, preferably in Local or State Government.
• Demonstrated ability to understand regulations, policies, guidelines, technical directions and procedures.
• Able to resolve complex traffic and transport related problems, negotiate viable options with key stakeholders and with management approval in place, implement preferred solutions.

This role has the option of a rostered day off each month, known as a 19-day month.
