Job summary

Amey Australia is seeking a Senior Town Planner to lead statutory and strategic planning across a diverse portfolio, including development, infrastructure, and renewable energy projects. You will manage client relationships, provide expert planning advice, and mentor junior staff within a professional services environment.

The role emphasises delivering high-quality planning services, supporting business development, and contributing to team growth in regional NSW.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Town Planning, Environmental Planning, or related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years’ post‑graduate experience in town planning and project delivery; 5+ years in NSW or QLD planning.
• Strong working knowledge of statutory and strategic planning legislation.
• Experience managing projects within a professional services environment.
• Well‑developed communication skills; confident with clients and stakeholders.
• Collaborative leadership style with mentoring and knowledge sharing.
• Experience in renewable energy projects and EISs.
• Willingness to work towards REAP accreditation (support provided).
• Relevant professional memberships (or eligibility).

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Town Planner to play a key role in delivering high-quality planning outcomes across a diverse portfolio of development and infrastructure projects.

In this position, you will lead the delivery of both statutory and strategic planning projects, providing expert planning advice, managing client relationships, and supporting the continued growth of our planning team.

You will work across a range of sectors, including urban development and renewable energy, while contributing to business development initiatives and mentoring emerging professionals. As a Senior Town Planner, you’ll play a pivotal part in delivering high-quality planning services while supporting team development and contributing to business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading and delivering statutory and strategic planning projects.
