Job summary

Amey Australia is seeking a Town Planner to join our Riverina team in Albury. You will contribute to planning reports, stakeholder engagement, and multidisciplinary project delivery across development, infrastructure and environmental sectors.

Working with senior planners and clients, you will prepare planning documentation, manage deliverables, and support approvals while upholding quality, professionalism and efficiency in a collaborative environment throughout the Riverina region.

Qualifications

• Eligibility requires a tertiary qualification in Urban/Town Planning with knowledge of planning legislation.

Responsibilities

Amey Australia is seeking a motivated Town Planner to join our growing Riverina team in Albury. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a diverse range of development, infrastructure, environmental, and planning projects while working alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

Whether you're preparing planning reports, managing approvals, engaging with stakeholders, or supporting project delivery, you'll play a key role in helping create sustainable and thriving communities across the region.

As a Town Planner, you will work closely with senior planners, technical specialists, and clients to support the successful delivery of planning and development projects across a variety of sectors.

You will be responsible for preparing planning documentation, liaising with stakeholders, managing project deliverables, and contributing to multidisciplinary projects that exceed client expectations for quality, professionalism, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare planning reports, assessments, and supporting documentation

Essential Requirements

• Tertiary qualification in Urban Planning, Town Planning, or a related discipline
• Current Australian Driver's Licence
• Knowledge of planning legislation, development assessment, and approval processes
• Understanding of strategic and statutory planning principles
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building abilities
• High attention to detail and problem-solving capability
• Motivated and proactive approach to professional development

Desirable

• Relevant industry memberships (PIA or equivalent)
• GIS experience or willingness to develop GIS capabilities
• Experience preparing planning reports and development applications
• Knowledge of environmental planning frameworks and legislation
