Job summary

Queensland Government seeks a Statutory Planner to coordinate land-use and transport planning within the Adjacent Land Management team. You will assess development impacts on the transport network and review road access applications under the Transport Infrastructure Act 1994.

Provide high-level advice on planning and transport statutes, review policy directions, and represent the department in intergovernmental groups. Strong liaison and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Mandatory qualifications: Possession of tertiary qualifications in Town Planning from a recognised tertiary institution acceptable for corporate membership with the Planning Institute of Australia; or other relevant qualification acceptable to the Delegate.
• Desirable: Demonstrated high level experience in assessment of development applications and applications for access.
• Criminal history screening will be conducted for the recommended person for this role.

Responsibilities

• Assess applications for road access and private road works under the Transport Infrastructure Act 1994.

• Review proposed legislation, planning schemes, major policy direction, or other material and advise on transport planning implications.
• Develop and maintain liaison with internal staff, state/local government agencies, community and stakeholders.
