Job summary

Embedded Expertise in Brisbane is seeking a Senior Test & Commissioning Engineer to support a major rail infrastructure project. You will oversee on-site testing across tunnel, station, rail systems, and integration packages, ensuring safety and compliance while aligning with project milestones.

Working with stakeholders, contractors, and engineering teams, you will review T&C plans, witness testing, and help resolve commissioning issues to support payments and handover.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering experience in major infrastructure or rail projects.
• Strong experience with Test & Commissioning on large-scale projects.
• Ability to review commissioning plans, procedures, and technical documentation.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement with contractors and project teams.
• Solid understanding of safety, quality and compliance in major projects.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Test & Commissioning Engineer to support a major rail infrastructure project in Brisbane. This role will play a critical part in overseeing and assuring test and commissioning activities across complex tunnel, station, rail systems, and integration packages.

Working closely with project stakeholders, contractors, and engineering teams, you will ensure testing activities are delivered safely, compliantly, and in line with project requirements while supporting key payment and project milestone approvals.

Key Responsibilities

• Witness on-site testing and commissioning activities across rail and infrastructure systems.
• Review and provide technical input into Test & Commissioning (T&C) plans across:
• Tunnel & Station Development (TSD)
• Rail Integration & Systems (RIS)
• ETCS and associated rail systems
• Review and assess T&C documentation, including:
• Test Procedures
• Test Checklists
• Calibration Records
• As-Built Drawings
• Punch Lists
• Handover Documentation
• Support the verification and approval process for payment and project completion milestones.
• Participate in regular commissioning, project, and stakeholder meetings.
• Assist with project audits, compliance activities, and quality assurance reviews.
• Work collaboratively with contractors to resolve technical comments and commissioning issues.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• 10+ years' engineering experience within major infrastructure, rail, transport, building services, or MEP environments.
• Strong Test & Commissioning experience on large-scale projects.
• Demonstrated experience reviewing commissioning plans, procedures, and technical documentation.
• Ability to engage effectively with contractors, project teams, and key stakeholders.
• Excellent understanding of safety, quality, and compliance requirements within major project environments.
• RPEQ accreditation
