Our client is a highly regarded Australian Government organisation operating within the national security and Defence environment. Working within a complex and security-focused technology environment, the organisation delivers capabilities that support some of Australia's most important national security outcomes.

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Test Analyst to join its team in Canberra or Melbourne. The successful candidate will be responsible for determining and carrying out testing activities to validate the design and behaviour of systems and services. Working closely with key stakeholders and development teams, you will use your understanding of business risks, system architecture, integrations, infrastructure and downstream dependencies to establish robust testing approaches and clearly defined acceptance criteria.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Liaising with stakeholders to understand business risks and impacts and establish clear, measurable acceptance criteria.
• Collaborating with development teams to understand system architecture, integrations, constraints, infrastructure, risks and downstream impacts of change.
• Designing, maintaining and executing comprehensive test strategies, plans and test cases, including regression testing.
• Performing system integration testing and user acceptance testing across new features, enhancements and defect fixes.
• Managing defects throughout their lifecycle, including identification, analysis, logging, prioritisation and verification through re-testing.
• Maintaining traceability between requirements, acceptance criteria, test scenarios and test cases.
• Selecting, applying and documenting appropriate testing techniques and methodologies.
• Producing high-quality testing artefacts, including test plans, reports and metrics.
• Ensuring acceptance criteria and definitions of done are clearly understood, agreed, documented and achieved.
• Leading and coordinating testing activities, including allocating work and resources, setting priorities, developing test strategies and evaluating testing outcomes against business objectives.

The Successful Candidate

The successful candidate will be an experienced Senior Test Analyst with a strong track record of delivering testing outcomes within complex ICT environments. You will combine hands-on testing capability with the ability to lead and coordinate testing activities while communicating confidently across technical and non-technical stakeholder groups.

To be considered, you will demonstrate:

• Demonstrated experience as a Senior Test Analyst within complex delivery environments.
• Relevant industry certifications such as ISTQB, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven proficiency with test and work management tools, including Jira and Confluence.
• Hands-on experience managing defects throughout their full lifecycle.
• Strong knowledge of cloud-based environments and system integration concepts, including dependencies and downstream impacts of change.
• Highly developed communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical and testing information clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• The ability to work collaboratively with development teams and key stakeholders across complex technology environments.

Candidates must also be willing to undergo an Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) prior to engagement.

Location: The role is based in Canberra ACT, or Melbourne VIC.

Contract terms: 12 months from commencement date, plus 2x 12 month extensions.

Experience Level: Senior – APS6 Equivalent.

Security Requirements: Candidates must hold an active or reactivatable Top Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) Security Clearance on submission. Our client is not prepared to upgrade an existing clearance for this position. An OSA will be required for this position.
