Job summary

CPB Contractors is seeking a Senior Temporary Works Design Coordinator to join our Melbourne team, reporting to the Design Manager. You will coordinate design activities, manage interfaces across disciplines, and ensure designs meet quality, compliance and constructability standards on major infrastructure projects.

The role suits a senior engineering professional experienced in stakeholder engagement and complex design coordination within construction environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Experience coordinating designs within construction, infrastructure, or engineering projects.
• Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience managing and liaising with design consultants.
• Ability to manage project plans, schedules, and resource requirements.
• Excellent analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to complex project environments.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate design activities across multiple disciplines and project stakeholders.
• Ensure design interfaces are effectively managed and resolved.
• Review designs for compliance with statutory, legislative, construction, and operational requirements.
• Facilitate the resolution of technical and construction-related design issues.
• Monitor design matters arising from defect rectification, value engineering initiatives, and external stakeholder interfaces.
• Coordinate construction support activities, including design inspections and supervision where required.
• Liaise with consultants, contractors, and project teams to ensure timely delivery of design outcomes.
