Job summary

Hitachi Rail is seeking a Senior Telecoms Engineer in Perth, Australia. The role covers design, documentation and delivery of IP networks for rail telecommunications projects, with a focus on high-quality design outputs and coordinating across teams.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in telecoms, CCNP/JNCIP, and strong IP/MPLS knowledge, and will mentor engineers while ensuring on-time project delivery.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree enabling full membership to Engineers Australia and eligibility for RPEQ.
• Experience delivering complex telecommunications projects in rail or critical infrastructure.
• Ability to produce high-quality design documentation and test plans.
• Strong leadership and collaboration across internal teams and clients.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver IP networks for telecommunications projects.
• Prepare design documentation, configuration templates, and test plans.
• Lead engineers and coordinate with delivery teams and stakeholders to meet schedules.
