Job summary

Hitachi Rail is seeking a Senior Telecoms Engineer to lead and contribute to the design and delivery of complex communications projects in Perth, Australia. The role spans from administrative to strategic tasks and requires strong IP network design experience and Cisco knowledge.

You will work within a dynamic engineering team, ensuring designs meet schedule, quality and safety requirements while mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree enabling full membership to Engineers Australia and eligibility for RPEQ.
• Demonstrated experience in IP network design and implementation in rail or critical infrastructure.
• Strong capability in Design and Construct, systems engineering concepts, and site testing support.
• Proven experience with Cisco routing and switching technologies and IP/MPLS infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Support design and delivery of communications projects including radio sites, IP nodes, data systems, fibre and copper transmission.
• Lead IP network design, design documentation, configuration development, integration planning and testing activities.
