Job summary

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Automotive Technician who takes pride in doing quality work, enjoys being part of a good team, and wants a role that offers a great long-term lifestyle.

This is a hands‑on position for someone who is confident across a wide range of makes, models and repairs. You’ll work on everything from general servicing and diagnostics through to clutches, timing belts, injectors and engine replacements.

Just as importantly, we’re looking for someone who cares about getting the job right and doing the right thing by the customer. We don’t believe in rushing work out the door, selling unnecessary repairs or cutting corners. We want customers to leave knowing their vehicle has been looked after properly and that they’ve received honest advice.

As one of the senior technicians in the workshop, you’ll also be someone the rest of the team can turn to for technical advice, second opinions and support when a difficult job comes through.

Key responsibilities

• Servicing, diagnosing and repairing a wide range of makes and models, including Ambulance Victoria vehicles

• Diagnosing more complex mechanical faults and solving difficult jobs

• Completing repairs to a consistently high standard

• Identifying maintenance and repair requirements and communicating them clearly to the service team

• Providing realistic labour‑time estimates and technical advice to front of house

• Supporting other technicians with diagnosis, technical questions and second opinions

• Sharing your experience with junior technicians and apprentices

• Helping maintain a workshop culture built around quality, teamwork and looking after the customer

About you

You’re an experienced, qualified automotive technician who enjoys being on the tools and takes genuine pride in their work.

You’re the type of mechanic who wants to understand the problem properly, fix it properly and know the vehicle is safe and right before it leaves the workshop.

Ideally, you’ll have:

• Strong experience across a broad range of makes and models

• Excellent diagnostic and fault‑finding ability

• Experience as a senior technician, foreman or highly experienced mechanic

• Confidence tackling larger and more complicated repairs

• High standards of workmanship and attention to detail

• A practical, calm and solutions‑focused approach

• Good communication skills and a willingness to help the rest of the team

• A positive attitude and ability to work independently

• RWC, A/C and EV qualifications are highly regarded, but not essential
