Job summary

Flinders University in Bedford Park (Kaurna Country) is seeking a Senior Technical Officer to supervise the College of Health and Enablement’s clinical simulation laboratories and related activities. You will support learning by coordinating workloads, preparing workshops, and ensuring equipment meets teaching requirements.

The role involves leading a team, organising staff rosters, providing technical guidance during practical classes and maintaining high standards of safety and learning

Qualifications

• Qualification in Nursing or Midwifery or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education and training relevant to the position.
• Experience with clinical teaching and assessment setup, including knowledge of and familiarity with equipment used for clinical teaching purposes.
• Strong collaborative and organisational skills with ability to coordinate day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead a team of service-oriented professionals, including planning and allocating staff resources, developing, coaching and mentoring employees and managing performance to deliver high-quality services.
• Organise the reallocation of staff duties and workloads in the event of staff absence.
• Provide technical advice and assistance during practical classes including demonstration of simulation equipment, procedures and techniques as required and to ensure safe and effective operations.
• Assume the functional responsibilities of other Team Leaders and Senior Manager in their absence.
• Quality control of clinical laboratory setups with a student-centred focus.
