Job summary

Australian Broadcasting Corporation in Sydney is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Business Analyst to bridge business needs with complex digital solutions across ABC platforms.

You will lead workshops, translate requirements into detailed artefacts, and shape future-state architectures, data governance, and integration patterns within cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Significant experience as a Business Analyst working with digital solutions.
• Outstanding technical understanding of complex systems landscapes, data flows and target architectures.
• Ability to translate customer and business needs into software requirements.
• Experience contributing to digital transformation, platform modernisation or technology uplift.

Responsibilities

• Perform highly specialised business and systems analysis as part of cross-functional digital teams.
• Analyse complex requirements and determine solutions in line with ABC standards.
• Evaluate information from workshops to inform solution design and implementation.
• Lead discovery of business rules, system interactions, data flows and governance.
• Define future-state solutions across complex technology environments.
• Oversee content management systems and related platforms setup.
• Produce artefacts including process diagrams, architectural diagrams and documentation.
• Design stakeholder workshops and develop supporting documentation.
• Translate customer needs into clear software requirements.
• Contribute to policy recommendations on technical matters when required.
• Work across teams to identify prioritised outcomes and best approaches.
• Demonstrate strong presentation, stakeholder management and technical writing skills.
• Maintain relationships across internal and external stakeholders.
• Adapt to changing environments with high personal drive.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Technical Business Analyst to bring together deep business and systems analysis across complex ABC digital initiatives.

Working as a core member of cross-functional teams, you’ll consolidate requirements, analyse complex systems and translate business and user needs into solution designs supporting both ABC audiences and content makers.

This role goes beyond traditional requirements gathering. You’ll work across systems landscapes, integrations, data flows, target architectures, content management platforms and future-state solution design.

• Perform highly specialised business and systems analysis as part of cross-functional digital teams
• Analyse complex requirements and determine appropriate solutions in accordance with ABC technology standards
• Evaluate information gathered through workshops, discovery and task analysis to inform complex solution design and implementation
• Lead discovery and analysis of business rules, system interactions, integrations, data flows and governance considerations
• Support the definition of future-state solutions across complex technology environments
• Oversee planning and setup activities associated with content management systems and similar content creation platforms
• Produce detailed analysis and solution artefacts including process diagrams, basic architectural diagrams and technical documentation
• Design and facilitate complex stakeholder workshops and develop detailed supporting documentation
• Translate customer and business needs into clear software requirements
• Contribute to policy recommendations on complex technical matters where required
• Work collaboratively across teams to identify prioritised outcomes and the most effective approaches to achieving them
• Significant experience as a Business Analyst working with digital solutions
• Outstanding technical understanding of complex systems landscapes, integration patterns, data flows and target architectures
• Strong understanding of how technical design decisions affect business processes and solution outcomes
• Demonstrated ability to analyse and document complex business rules, system interactions, integration landscapes and data governance requirements across multiple platforms
• Significant understanding of business process management and the ability to translate customer needs into specific software requirements
• Experience contributing to digital transformation, platform modernisation, technology uplift or strategic technology initiatives
• Demonstrated experience producing high-quality artefacts including process models, capability maps, service blueprints, data flows, decision models and solution requirements
• Excellent presentation, stakeholder management and technical writing skills, including communicating complex information to technical and non-technical audiences
• Strong relationship-building capability across internal and external stakeholders
• High personal drive and the ability to operate effectively in changing environments

The following would be highly regarded:

• Working knowledge of content management platforms
• Knowledge of AWS, Azure, APIs, DevOps concepts and distributed architectures
