Job summary

Talent is seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst to support a major program of technology and industry change within the utilities sector in Victoria, Australia. This is a 6-month contract with a strong likelihood of extension.

You will work across business and technology teams to analyse the impact of market and system changes across processes, data and applications, translating complex technical information into clear business and functional requirements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Technical or IT Business Analyst.
• Experience within electricity, utilities or energy is highly regarded.
• Understanding of the Australian electricity market and AEMO-related processes.
• Experience with CIS, MDM, billing or utility market systems.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle SQL and data analysis.
• Strong requirements gathering, impact analysis and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Gather and document technical, functional and business requirements.
• Analyse impacts across utility systems including CIS, MDM, billing and market gateways.
• Work with business SMEs, developers, testers and technical teams to understand system and process changes.
• Investigate data and issues across Oracle databases, application logs and enterprise systems.
• Analyse system interfaces, integrations and data flows.
• Translate complex technical information into clear business requirements and outcomes.
• Support testing, defect analysis and delivery activities across the SDLC.
