Job summary

Tyro is seeking a Senior Talent Partner to shape how we attract, hire and grow talent across Australia. You’ll lead a three-person Talent Partner team and partner closely with senior leaders to translate workforce priorities into practical talent strategies.

This hands-on role combines strategic thinking with proactive sourcing, data analytics, and AI-enabled recruiting to elevate hiring quality and speed. You’ll champion inclusive, skills-based hiring, manage a diverse pipeline, and ensure

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in talent acquisition and building teams.
• Experience leading senior and XLT-level hiring.
• Proven ability to translate workforce needs into practical talent strategies.
• Proficiency in proactive sourcing, market mapping and pipeline building.
• Strong data literacy and use of recruitment metrics to improve outcomes.
• Interest in applying AI responsibly to improve sourcing and candidate experience.

• Partner with Senior People Partners and business leaders to plan workforce priorities.
• Lead senior and XLT-level recruitment with end-to-end ownership from design to onboarding handover.
• Coach and develop a team of three Talent Partners to build capability.

About The Role

As our Senior Talent Partner, you’ll play a key role in shaping how Tyro attracts, hires and builds the talent we need for what’s next. You’ll lead a team of three Talent Partners while personally partnering on senior and XLT-level hiring, working closely with Senior People Partners and leaders to turn workforce priorities into practical talent strategies. This is a hands-on leadership role combining strategic partnering, proactive sourcing, data and AI-enabled recruiting to improve hiring quality, speed and experience across Tyro.

What You'll Do

• Partner & Advise: Build strong partnerships with Senior People Partners, XLT and business leaders to understand workforce plans, capability gaps and future talent needs, using market intelligence and recruitment data to shape hiring decisions.
• Lead Senior Hiring: Personally lead senior and XLT-level recruitment, providing a high-touch experience from role design and market mapping through sourcing, assessment, offer and onboarding handover.
• Lead the Talent Team: Lead, coach and develop a team of three Talent Partners, setting clear priorities and building capability across strategic partnering, proactive sourcing, data literacy, AI-enabled recruiting and candidate experience.
• Build Talent Pipelines: Drive proactive sourcing and talent pooling for priority, building diverse, skills-based pipelines.
• Champion Technology & AI: Drive effective use of Teamtailor, Workday, Vervoe and approved AI tools to improve sourcing, assessment, hiring efficiency and candidate experience, while maintaining appropriate human judgement and responsible AI practices.
• Improve How We Hire: Use recruitment data, market insights and feedback to identify bottlenecks, improve processes and strengthen outcomes across time to hire, direct sourcing, quality of hire and candidate and hiring manager experience.

What You'll Bring

• Talent Leadership: Strong talent acquisition experience, including leading and developing Talent Partners and balancing team leadership with hands-on recruitment.
• Executive Hiring Experience: Confidence partnering with senior executives and leading complex, high-impact senior and XLT-level searches.
• Strategic Partnership: A track record of working closely with senior leaders and People teams to translate workforce needs into practical talent and sourcing strategies.
• Sourcing & Market Expertise: Strong capability in proactive sourcing, talent pooling and market mapping, with the ability to build pipelines for priority roles.
• Data & Commercial Mindset: Confidence using recruitment metrics, market intelligence and talent insights to influence decisions, manage agency spend and improve hiring outcomes.
• Technology & AI Mindset: Experience using modern talent technology and an interest in applying AI responsibly to improve sourcing, assessment, productivity and candidate experience.
• Candidate Focus: A commitment to inclusive, skills-based hiring and creating a consistently strong experience for candidates and hiring leaders.
• Risk & Judgement: Strong judgement around privacy, confidentiality, screening and recruitment governance, with the ability to operate effectively in a regulated environment.
