Job summary

Hitachi Rail STS Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a Senior System Engineer in Brisbane to join a team delivering Traffic Management System software. You will work on enterprise platforms with message brokers, canonical data models and microservices, deploying primarily on virtual machines with containerisation.

You will design and specify architectures, write requirements and interface documents, and ensure compliance with safety and cyber security standards relevant to rail IT systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience as a systems engineer, software architect or similar.
• Experience with UML/SysML modelling; ability to write software requirements.
• Ability to work independently and deliver to tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Produce specifications, designs and plans under guidance of leads.
• Write subsystem requirements and interface specifications with tracing.
• Develop system and subsystem architectures with diagrams and models.
• Create hardware design specifications for CAD hand-off where needed.
• Prepare software QA plans, verification and validation plans with traceability.
