Job summary

Hitachi Rail is seeking a Senior Signalling System Engineer to join its Brisbane, Australia team. You will lead system and interface work across the full project lifecycle in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires 3–5 years in transportation systems engineering and a technical background in electrical/electronic/computer engineering or IT. A hybrid work arrangement is offered with strong collaboration across international teams.

Qualifications

• Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering or Information Technology Qualifications/ University Degree or Equivalent Technical Background.
• From 3 to 5 years of Transportation System Engineering expertise.

Responsibilities

• Identify, manage and fulfill System and Functional Requirements for the project lifecycle (Design and Testing).
• Identify and manage project interfaces among subsystems and external interfaces per scope.
• Deliver System Engineering documents on time, budget, and quality; execute V&V activities.
• Propose improvements and updates to design standards with process/tech upgrades.
• Support implementation of effective technical solutions (e.g., customer interfaces).
• Perform System Engineering studies (fleet sizing, operational scenarios).
• Ensure timely System Integration tests are performed.

Job Description

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Senior Signalling System Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Brisbane, Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the identification, management and fulfilment of the System and Functional Requirements for the entire life cycle of the project (Design and Testing).
• Ensure the identification and management of the project Interfaces among the subsystems and external interfaces according to the project scope of work.
• Ensure the delivery of the System Engineering technical documents of the project on time, on budget, on quality and the execution of the Verification activities of System integration documents, according to the V&V Plan.
• Ensure the proposal of improvements and updates of the design standards in accordance with process and technology improvements.
• Support the implementation of the adequate and effective technical solution (e.g. interfaces with customer).
• Ensure the execution of the System Engineering studies for the project (fleet sizing calculation, Operational Scenario issue).
• Ensure the timely and effective performance of System Integration tests.
