Hitachi Rail is seeking a Senior System Engineer in Brisbane, Australia, to lead a broad range of specifications, designs and plans in a fast-paced environment. The role focuses on systems engineering across enterprise platforms, with emphasis on safety-related software processes and standards.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience as a systems engineer, software architect or similar, with strong modelling skills (UML/SysML) and experience writing software requirements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience as systems engineer, software architect or similar.
• Experience with UML/SysML or other design modelling.
• Experience writing software requirements.
• Demonstrable capacity to work independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to deliver to tight deadlines while maintaining high quality.

Responsabilités

• Write sub-system requirements derived from system requirements with traceability.
• Write component-level requirements and interface specifications.
• Create system and subsystem architectures including diagrams and sequences.
• Prepare hardware design specs for CAD engineers.
• Draft specs for subcontracting software functionality.
• Develop software QA plans, verification/validation plans, and CM plans with traceability.
• Manage quotations through procurement for hardware/software.
• Design rollout strategies for rail dispatch operations.
• Ensure compliance with software, cyber security and safety standards.
