Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join a highly technical engineering environment supporting complex, enterprise-scale infrastructure and platform technologies. This is a predominantly on-premises role, not a cloud-focused or Windows-based position.

Only candidates who hold an active Security Clearance will be considered.

About The Role

You’ll work across the technology stack, supporting and troubleshooting complex infrastructure and platform environments, while contributing to automation and engineering initiatives.

The Role Will Involve

• On-premises infrastructure – servers, virtualisation and operating systems
• Networking – routing, switching, BGP, VPNs, firewalls, DNS and connectivity troubleshooting
• Platform technologies – Kubernetes, OpenShift, VMware and Docker
• Automation & IaC – Ansible, Terraform and Python
• Software development – development and debugging capability beyond basic scripting
• End-to-end troubleshooting across infrastructure, networking, platforms and applications
• Technical design, automation, optimisation and continuous improvement

About You

We’re looking for a genuinely hands‑on Systems / Infrastructure / Platform Engineer with broad technical capability.

You Will Ideally Have

• Strong on-premises infrastructure and systems engineering experience
• Hands‑on Kubernetes/OpenShift and virtualisation experience
• Strong networking fundamentals and troubleshooting capability
• Experience with Ansible and Terraform
• Development/debugging experience with Go, Rust and/or Python
• The ability to troubleshoot complex issues across the full technology stack
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and a strong engineering mindset
• An active Security Clearance is mandatory for this position.
