Job summary

Emanate Technology in Canberra, ACT is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to design, implement and support enterprise infrastructure across data centres and cloud, with a focus on AI platforms. Qualifications

• 5+ years in a Systems Engineer or Senior Systems Engineer role.
• Experience across enterprise infrastructure spanning data centre and cloud environments.
• Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills; solid troubleshooting and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support enterprise infrastructure solutions across data centre and cloud environments.
• Manage and optimise Windows Server, VMware, Azure, and hybrid cloud platforms.
• Support core infrastructure services including Entra ID, DNS, DHCP, PKI, and Group Policy.
• Administer and maintain server, storage, backup, and disaster recovery platforms.
• Support Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, Intune, and SharePoint.
• Manage and troubleshoot networking, security, and connectivity across on‑prem and cloud.
• Implement and support infrastructure automation using PowerShell and IaC.
• Deliver infrastructure refresh, migration and modernization projects.
• Assist with deployment and operational support of AI infrastructure, including GPU-enabled environments and AI platform services.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to implement secure infrastructure and cloud governance controls.
• Provide Level 3 technical support and mentoring to junior engineers.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, and procedures.

About the Role

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise infrastructure environments while providing technical leadership across infrastructure, cloud, automation, and AI initiatives. This role spans both traditional and modern technology domains, including on-premises data centre infrastructure, virtualisation, Microsoft cloud technologies, networking, security, and emerging AI platforms. You'll work closely with architects, security specialists, and project teams to deliver robust, secure, and scalable solutions across enterprise and government environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support enterprise infrastructure solutions across data centre and cloud environments.

Technical Skills & Experience Essential

• 5+ years' experience in a Systems Engineer or Senior Systems Engineer role.
• Strong experience supporting enterprise infrastructure across both data centre and cloud environments.

• Exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or Bicep.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and modern application hosting platforms.
• Experience supporting AI infrastructure, machine learning platforms or GPU-enabled environments.
• Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, Azure AI, OpenAI, or Databricks.
• Experience with enterprise security platforms and Zero Trust architectures.
• Palo Alto firewall administration or engineering experience highly regarded.
• Experience working within Federal Government or highly regulated environments.
