Job summary

Hamilton Barnes in Western Australia is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join the Modern Workplace and Professional Services team.

The role involves hands-on delivery of complex infrastructure, cloud, endpoint, and cybersecurity projects across enterprise, government, or education environments, collaborating with senior consultants, solutions architects, and project managers from discovery through to implementation and BAU transition.

Qualifications

• 3+ years delivering ICT solutions in corporate, enterprise, government or education environments
• 3+ years experience in IT service provider or professional services environment
• Experience with cloud transformation projects focusing on security
• Proven experience delivering end-to-end Microsoft Intune implementations
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365
• Experience with identity management including Entra ID, CA, SSO
• Windows Server, Active Directory, and Windows 11 deployment/configuration
• Experience with Microsoft 365 services (Teams, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online)
• Endpoint management platforms including Intune, SCCM, JAMF and other MDM tools
• Knowledge of Microsoft Information Protection and Compliance Management
• Driver's licence and ability to travel as needed
• Current Australian Working Rights

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the technical analysis, design, implementation and deployment of Infrastructure and Modern Workplace projects
• Provide technical expertise throughout solution discovery and design activities
• Contribute to solution architecture, technical designs and project documentation
• Develop technical change requests and migration/implementation/test plans
• Design proof-of-concepts and pilot environments
• Support project managers with technical scope, risks, dependencies and change management
• Assist architects with technical scopes, estimates and planning
• Act as senior escalation point for complex incidents and high-priority issues
• Produce as-built and transition documentation for BAU teams
• Collaborate with vendors/partners to deliver technical changes
• Support cloud transformation and cybersecurity uplift initiatives across client environments
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineers
