Job summary

SWU Consultation Pty Ltd in Canberra seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to lead the LAND 6504 capability development. The role requires establishing the project engineering baseline and coordinating activities across APS and external SMEs, with direct advisory support to senior project leadership.

Onsite Canberra position with an initial contract term spanning late 2026 to mid-2027. NV1 clearance with potential upgrade to NV2 is required, and the rate is 150–160 AUD per hour (including super).

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage up an integrated engineering team comprising APS and contractors.
• Establish and maintain the LAND 6504 requirements baseline.
• Define and maintain technical scope, system boundaries and architecture baselines.
• Identify and manage interfaces, dependencies, assumptions, constraints, risks and opportunities.
• Lead engineering input to acquisition strategy and implementation planning.
• Conduct and assure technical assessments, trade studies and engineering recommendations.
• Support engineering governance, reviews and decision making.
• Provide engineering reporting and advice to project leadership.

The LAND 6504 Level 4 Senior System Engineer will act as the engineering lead supporting development of the LAND 6504 capability and will be responsible for establishing and maintaining the project engineering baseline required to support Early Access Funding, acquisition planning and Combined Pass approval activities. The position provides senior engineering advice to the Project Director, Project Manager and Project Engineering Manager while coordinating engineering activities performed by other specialist engineering SMEs.

Initial contract term: 12 Oct 2026 - 30 Jun 2027
