Job summary

6Points is seeking a dedicated Surveyor / Data Manager to lead survey control, field data and spatial datasets across major rail and civil works in South East Queensland. The role ensures accurate, traceable data underpinning construction and handover decisions.

Ideal candidates hold a degree or diploma in surveying/geomatics, with 7+ years in construction surveying and strong data leadership on large projects, including experience with total stations, GNSS, scanning and BIM/GIS exchanges.

Qualifications

Degree or diploma in surveying, geomatics or spatial science; relevant registration where required.
7+ years' construction-survey experience including data leadership on major civil or rail projects.
Experience with total stations, GNSS, scanning, monitoring and BIM/GIS data exchange.

Responsibilities

Establish and protect project survey control and calibration records.
Plan and review set-out, feature surveys, monitoring, scanning and as-built activities.
Validate field data, coordinate systems and metadata for transfer into design, BIM, GIS and asset platforms.
Investigate survey discrepancies before affected work is covered.
Maintain survey and spatial-data registers, backups and access controls.
