Job summary

Queensland Health, in partnership with Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Hospital, seeks a senior surgical medical professional to lead the General Surgery Department. A focus on evidence-based care, clinical leadership, and education of registrars and students will shape patient outcomes.

You will work with the Director of Surgery to drive governance, patient safety and service development across surgical services in a large public health system.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership of multidisciplinary teams within a surgical setting.
• Experience in training registrars, junior medical staff and students.
• Commitment to clinical governance, patient safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialist surgical services and participate in emergency and on-call rosters.
• Provide professional leadership, training and supervision to clinical staff.
• Contribute to theatre utilisation, outpatient management and resource efficiency.
