Job summary

Able Mentor Services is seeking an experienced Senior Support Worker to lead across three SIL homes in Coopers Plains and Wellington Point. This casual role involves hands-on shifts in all houses, setting the standard for how they run and coordinating with the Director and coordinators.

You will support people with disabilities, implement plans, help manage medications, and ensure consistent care across the trio of homes.

Qualifications

• Two years of disability support experience including SIL or similar 24/7 settings.
• Experience implementing behaviour support plans and reporting obligations.
• NDIS Worker Screening clearance current or applied, First Aid and CPR current, Orientation Module completed.
• Open Queensland driver licence and reliable vehicle; travel between three homes.
• Comfort with shift notes, incident reporting and digital care systems.
• Availability across varied roster including weekends and sleepovers.
• Certificate IV in Disability or Diploma of Community Services.
• Experience leading a small team or acting as senior on shift.
• Medication administration and manual handling training.

Responsibilities

• Lead on the floor across three SIL homes as the senior worker on shift.
• Coach newer workers and escalate issues on shift.
• Keep each house running: follow care plans, maintain medications and records, report incidents on time.
• Collaborate with Director and coordinators on rosters and resident goals.

Lead on the floor, not from a spreadsheet.

Able Mentor Services is looking for experienced support workers ready to take the lead across our three Supported Independent Living homes in Coopers Plains and Wellington Point. This is a hands-on senior role: you'll work shifts in all three houses, and you'll set the standard for how they run. We may appoint more than one person.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Work regular shifts across the three homes as the senior worker on the floor — you'll know every house, every team and every person we support there
• Be the go-to for the team on shift: modelling good practice, coaching newer workers, escalating early
• Keep each house running: support plans followed, medications and records in order, incidents reported properly and on time, and the same standard in all three
• Work with the Director and coordinators on rosters, each person's goals and the small things that make a home feel like a home
• Build honest working relationships with the people we support, their families, support coordinators and other providers

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• At least two years' disability support experience, including SIL or similar 24/7 settings
• Experience implementing behaviour support plans, including restrictive practice reporting obligations
• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (current, or applied), current First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009), NDIS Worker Orientation Module certificate, and right to work in Australia
• Open Queensland driver licence and a reliable, comprehensively insured vehicle — driving between the three homes is part of the role, kilometre allowance paid
• Confident with shift notes, incident reporting and digital care management systems
• Good availability across a varied roster, including weekends and occasional sleepovers or nights
• Certificate IV in Disability or Diploma of Community Services
• Experience leading a small team or acting as senior on shift
• Medication administration and manual handling training

WHY THIS ROLE

• SCHADS Level 3 casual rates plus penalties, with an expected regular pattern of around 32 hours a week across the three houses and a six-month review of the role and your engagement
