Stantec is seeking a Senior/Principal Electrical Engineer - Substations to join the Energy & Resources team. Lead and deliver detailed electrical design across HV, EHV, AC and DC substations in Australia and beyond, with potential base in NSW, VIC or QLD offices.

You will mentor, lead multi-disciplinary teams, and shape project outcomes while supporting growth of the substation group and engaging clients and stakeholders.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems preferred).
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in high voltage substation design and engineering, ideally within Australian utility environments.
• CPEng (Engineers Australia) and RPEQ (for Queensland-based candidates) or working towards.
• Strong experience in substation design, including primary plant and associated systems.

Aufgaben

• Lead and perform detailed design of substations, including layouts, grounding, cable routing, AC/DC systems and documentation.
• Act as a technical authority on substation design and engage with clients.
• Prepare technical specifications for major equipment and support construction, testing and commissioning.
• Support procurement processes and provide technical guidance across project delivery.
• Contribute to proposals, project plans and estimates, including leading smaller bids.
• Perform engineering studies such as power flow, short circuit, grounding and insulation coordination.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to resolve challenges and ensure project success.
