Job summary

Department for Education, Children and Young People in Tasmania seeks an Advanced Skills Teacher (Student Support) at Howrah Primary School to lead inclusive education initiatives and wellbeing programs across the school.

You will coordinate ILPs, supervise Student Support and Wellbeing Teams, and provide expert guidance on interventions while developing staff and resources to support students with disabilities and educational adjustments.

Qualifications

• Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (RWVP) with a registration Status – Employment
• A registered teacher with full registration within the meaning of the Teachers Registration Act 2000.
• Qualifications as established by the Tasmanian Industrial Commission in the Teaching Service (Tasmanian Public Sector) Award, 2005.
• Four years or more training as defined in the Teaching Service (Tasmanian Public Sector) Award 2005.

Responsibilities

• Lead and strengthen inclusive practices across the school.
• Coordinate support systems and lead Student Support and Wellbeing Teams.
• Provide expert advice on inclusive practices, interventions and student support strategies.
• Coordinate development and review of Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and oversee Care Team processes.
• Develop Teacher Assistants and monitor student progress to inform planning.
