Job summary

Beca HunterH2O, the Australian water business of Beca, is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Newcastle team. You will design and review structure for water and wastewater facilities, reservoirs and pipelines, and lead technical work on projects.

You will mentor team members, build client relationships, and travel on occasion. We offer flexible working, growth opportunities and pathways to Chartership with Engineers Australia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil (structural) engineering.
• 8+ years of experience in water and wastewater treatment/conveyance design.
• Experience managing packages on small to medium engineering design projects.
• Technical leadership and expert knowledge in structural design.
• Knowledge of safety in design, constructability and Australian standards/WSAA codes.
• Knowledge of risk management and risk identification.
• Commitment to safe working within HSEQ systems.
• Strong problem-solving and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with clients and teams.
• Coaching and mentoring team members.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design for water/wastewater projects.
• Review design requirements, site investigations, calculations, modelling and reports.
• Mentor and coach team members.
• Build strong client relationships and provide solutions on/off site.
• Travel as required.
