Stantec is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Community Development team in Newcastle. You will lead design and documentation for water infrastructure, industrial and civil structures, while mentoring junior staff and coordinating across disciplines for integrated project delivery.

This role emphasizes high-quality design calculations, construction support, and active involvement in business growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Experience with water infrastructure and civil structures.
• Strong communication and project leadership abilities.
• CPENG qualification is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design and document structural engineering solutions for water infrastructure, industrial and civil structures.
• Scoping, design and construction support.
• Providing up to date knowledge of construction methods and materials, and their impact on design/construction.
• Delivery of practical and innovative engineering solutions for clients.
• Collaborating across disciplines to deliver a complete solution to a project.
• Ensuring technical work and design calculations are of the highest standard.
• Mentoring junior staff in structural engineering and undertaking reviews of structural models, calculations, specifications and drawings.
• Preparing high-quality reports and other related documents.
• Carrying out construction phase services including inspections.
• Helping win work and drive a result orientated and enthusiastic culture for project delivery.
• Contributing to the growth of the company in the market place including participation in business planning activities.
