Job summary

BG&E Minerals, part of the SYSTRA Group, is building its presence in the Mining and Minerals sector across Australia. This role supports establishing BG&E Minerals and growing its capability by delivering safe, compliant structural design and review across projects.

You will work with engineers, designers and contractors to develop practical, buildable solutions, manage technical risk and liaise with clients and authorities to ensure successful project delivery.

Qualifications

• BEng or higher in Civil/Structural Engineering
• 5–10 years’ experience for Senior or 10+ years for Lead
• Solid understanding of Australian standards and construction safety principles
• Skilled in structural analysis software and documentation
• Proven experience in developing practical, buildable solutions under site constraints
• Strong communication and coordination with site teams and contractors
• A proactive, hands‑on approach to solving engineering challenges

Responsibilities

• Undertake detailed analysis and structural design to ensure safety, compliance, and constructability
• Assess the behaviour and performance of materials under construction-stage conditions
• Develop and advise on construction methodologies and sequencing plans in consultation with site teams and contractors
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and consultants to deliver coordinated solutions
• Review technical reports, drawings, and design calculations for quality and accuracy
• Prepare / Assist with the tendering and winning of work
• Liaise with clients, local authorities, and other project stakeholders as required for the delivery of projects
• Apply project management principles to achieve deliverables to the required standard and in a timely manner
• Prepare and review technical reports
• Identify and manage technical and commercial risks on behalf of BG&E and our clients
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and participate in interdisciplinary workshops and risk assessments
• Ensure that all work is undertaken in accordance with legislation, standards, corporate requirements and systems
• Represent BG&E Minerals and instil confidence in our clients and external stakeholders

BG&E Minerals is a wholly owned subsidiary of BG&E (Part of SYSTRA), established to service the Mining and Minerals sector across Australia and New Zealand. Missions/Main Duties

The purpose of this role is to support the establishment of BG&E Minerals and its growth into the Mining and Minerals sector by assuming a range of responsibilities such as:

Profile/Skills

About You

You will be a key contributor within BG&E Minerals' Structural team where you’ll apply your structural engineering expertise across a range of studies and projects.

• BEng or higher in Civil/Structural Engineering
• Relevant industry experience (5-10 years for Senior or 10+ years for Lead)
• Solid understanding of Australian standards and construction safety principles
• Skilled in structural analysis software and able to produce clear, accurate documentation
• Proven experience in developing practical, buildable solutions under site constraints
• Strong communication and coordination skills, particularly with site teams and contractors
• A proactive, hands‑on approach to solving engineering challenges
