A senior structural engineer leads investigations, inspections, and remedial design for Class 2 residential and commercial buildings, ensuring compliance and producing expert reports. Conducts site inspections, diagnostics, and forensic assessments of distressed structures, facades, and defects. Prepares detailed remedial designs, drawings, and specifications for repairs, strengthening, and refurbishment. Ensures designs meet Australian Standards, NCC, and NSW DBP Act requirements, including "Declared Designs. "Produces technical and expert witness reports for NCAT and courts. Requires 10-15+ years experience, civil or structural degree, and registration eligibility. Proficient in concrete pathology, waterproofing, structural analysis software, and legislation. Performs site visits, works across office and site environments, and adheres to safety protocols.
