Job summary

SCP Consulting, a privately owned Australian engineering firm, is seeking a Senior Structural Draftsperson to support the structural group on building and infrastructure projects. You will translate engineer concepts into polished drawings and lead drafting on projects.

You’ll produce models to the required LOD and ensure drawing quality as Lead Draftsperson, while mentoring teammates and contributing to drafting standards.

Qualifications

• 6-8 years local experience in structural drafting.
• Proficiency in Revit.
• Experience with BIM, Dynamo and Revizto/AutoDesk Forma is an advantage.
• Ability to work autonomously and lead drafting activities.
• Qualifications in structural drafting or civil design (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Translate information from engineers and clients into detailed drawings.
• Produce models to required LOD (LOD 300 minimum where not specified).
• Lead drafting quality on projects and coordinate with the team.
• Collaborate with other drafters and participate in meetings.
• Manage revisions, reviews and QA processes.
• Contribute to drafting standards and workflow improvements.
• Mentor and support junior drafters and designers.

Your Role

As a Senior Structural Draftsperson, you'll support the structural group in delivering projects and have the experience and confidence to provide technical advice. You will also run projects and liaise directly with consultant.

You’ll:

• Translate information from Engineers, clients, and other experts into polished detailed drawings.
• Produce models to the required LOD for each project. LOD 300 minimum standard where nothing is specified.
• Assure the quality of drawings as the Lead Draftsperson on a project.
• Listen and collaborate with other drafters on projects where you are support.
• Participate in coordination meetings
• Managing drawing revisions, technical reviews and quality assurance processes.
• Contributing to drafting standards, workflow improvements and continuous improvements.
• Leadership through mentoring and supporting drafters and designers within the team.

What You’ll Bring

• A minimum of 6- 8 years of local experience in structural drafting
• Ability to work autonomously as a Structural Drafter/Modeller.
• Proficiency in the use of Revit.
• Experience in commercial, high rises or industrial projects.
• Qualifications in structural drafting, civil construction design or equivalent (preferred).
• Previous experience conforming to BIM requirements, using Dynamo and working on Revizto and AutoDesk Forma will be highly regarded.
• The ability to be a team player and happy to support the team in delivering projects.
• Ability to work collaboratively in the ongoing maintenance and development of standards.
