Job summary

Downer's Energy & Utilities is seeking a Strategy Advisor to shape long-term growth and investment decisions across Australia and New Zealand.

Reporting to the General Manager - Strategy, you will collaborate with senior leaders across Water, Energy Networks, Telecommunications, Power Transmission & Storage and Industrials to support M&A, strategic planning and sector positioning in a complex ASX-listed environment.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years' experience in strategy, management consulting, infrastructure advisory, M&A, investment banking or similar.
• Strong financial modelling, valuation and commercial analysis capability.
• Ability to undertake complex problem solving and problem structuring.
• Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for senior stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A proactive, self-driven approach with strong stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, analyse and report on market, industry and competitor trends to identify growth opportunities and risks.
• Build financial models, valuations and conduct due diligence to support M&A and strategic investments.
• Partner with EGMs, GMs and senior leaders to develop sector strategies and market factbooks.
• Prepare high-quality executive reports, presentations and board papers.
• Provide economic and sector insights to inform medium and long-term strategic planning.
